70 registrations - fantastic progress!

Updated: Sep 5, 2021

Has your neighbour registered yet?

Remind them - the deadline is next Friday 10th September.

Let us know if there's anyone who you think we can talk to who perhaps hasn't realised how much they could benefit...

The volunteers are only too happy to visit them at home or chat over the phone if it will help them get all the information they need. It could make all the difference to our signup numbers!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already supported the Cartmel Fell B4RN project.

We reached 70 registrations on Thursday 2nd September, and we can see how engaged and interested everyone is in making this a success for us all!

Sue Caddy, our Community Engagement and Development Officer at B4RN, has given us all great feedback about our progress to date. She has also advised us that every registration of a property above the 80 we have set as our target, will help us to apply for the maximum possible funding from the government.

Exceeding our targets would give us confidence that our community will have its broadband service delivered here in as short a timescale as possible, meeting the Government Gigabit voucher fund requirements. B4RN will focus its efforts on helping us achieve this.

SO

If you know of any neighbours who have yet to sign up, please chat to them and if they have even a slight inclination to register, please let them know that:

  • They‘ll be making a significant contribution to the community by ensuring that everyone here will have the same quality and continuity of service.

  • They aren’t committed financially at this point and even once they sign a contract and get connected, they can cancel within 30 days.

  • The service is incomparable in terms of fantastic value AND hyperfast speed.

  • There are lots of areas nearby already working on B4RN projects, and we have access to local support and knowledge

  • Land lines will not exist by 2025, but don't worry! There are services that enable the use of your home phone number via a B4RN broadband connection.

  • They can keep an old BT email account without buying their broadband! Let me know if you want to know how.

  • Nothing is too much trouble. We can visit and chat if someone has questions, and we are also happy to help people register if they’re short of time (or internet!).

  • They can also visit us at the Q&A drop-in session on Saturday 4th at Hare Hill Barn, Cartmel Fell LA11 6NZ between 11am and 3pm.

  • They can find out more at cartmelfellb4rn.com/whyb4rn

It’s been lovely to have the chance to chat to so many of you already. Please let us know if you have any other questions, or anyone would like us to visit.

Best wishes,

Julie
