Broadband is an essential service in today's technological age

I decided to get involved and volunteer for the Cartmel Fell B4RN for a number of reasons.
First and foremost is obviously the lack of any reliable and reasonably priced internet connection in the area. Between working from home, as well as children and grandparents streaming, it is an essential service for our family. If my support can help speed up a B4RN rollout in our area, to help myself and the community, it is the least I can do.
Secondly I come from a technical background and am comfortable building and installing computer equipment. I thought that this skill would lend itself to installing home kits at local properties once we are into the build stage.
Lastly I thought it would be a good way to meet more people in my community that I would not have otherwise. The amount of people already involved in the project shows how important we all feel this is for the community.
