The staggering potential of B4RN's future-proof service can seem a bit unreal at times. Sitting here in 2021, it's true: there's very little the internet can deliver us today that isn't dealt with very easily by a 70Mbps connection (if you're one of the lucky few on Cartmel Fell to have one).
But the simple truth is that we have NO IDEA what the internet of the FUTURE will be able to offer those who come after us ... and so we MUST ACT NOW to lay down a network for them that will be able to cope with WHATEVER the future throws at them!
We can, though, be certain of some things. If we don't succeed in getting this B4RN project in the ground in the next 12-18 months:
No other commercial provider will EVER offer us the security and reliability of buried full-fibre-to-the-premises
No other commercial provider will EVER be able to guarantee speeds of up to 1,000Mbps
No other commercial provider will EVER offer us anything near what B4RN is offering for only £30pm
So that's why my wife and I are signing up ... and signing up NOW! We only have until 10th SEPTEMBER 2021 to make sure that the Cartmel Fellers of 2031 and even 2041 can look back ... and say "Thank you!"
